Our Client Specialises in the delivery of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), design and project management, covering a diverse range of services including systems specification and design, ITS strategies, operational process engineering and vehicle telematics.

They are looking to recruit an Urban ITS Engineer to join their expanding team. You will be Working in close partnership with clients, project managers and technical specialists, you will be responsible for the delivery of urban ITS consultancy and engineering design services on a wide range of projects.

You will deliver high quality, traffic operations and technology consultancy services. You will develop, build and maintain close relationships with our clients, understanding their needs and requirements and turning their ideas into workable solutions which provide real benefit to road users. You will develop new concepts, strategies and approaches for managing the movement of people, goods and traffic. You will support others in the delivery of these goals.

You will identify and assess a variety of options, ranging from new operational procedures and methods of working to new types of technology, considering the drivers and constraints of the modern transport environment. You will liaise with project stakeholders, gaining feedback and securing support for the solutions you develop on behalf of your clients. This is a great opportunity for you to apply your skills, working across a range of disciplines and services, liaising with technical experts across the technology consultancy and development fields.

About you:

You will have experience in the provision of consultancy engineering services, the generation of ideas and strategies and the analysis and resolution of problems.

You will be results driven, comfortable with team or lone working and be able to work on multiple projects concurrently through effective time management.

You will have developed a range of capabilities relating to the design, specification and implementation of urban ITS infrastructure and systems covering, for example:
· Urban Traffic Control / Remote Monitoring.
· Traffic Signals.
· Variable Message Signs.
· Car Park Management and Guidance.
· UTMC Common Database.
· Real Time Passenger Information.

Knowledge and experience of Local Government and operational highway network management would be desirable
