Job Description

Over the summer holidays we have 2 Schools that are being rewired and 2 Schools that are having communal boilers renewed complete with system reconfiguration and have primarily partnered with two reputable M&E specialists contractors to deliver these high profile projects. In addition to this workload there will be 10+ schools with a relatively small amount of M&E work that may need the candidates input.

As a result I have decided to open up a couple of temporary positions on the Non-Housing/Corporate side. Initially the assignment will be for 4-6 weeks but this may be extended. We also hope to that we will be in a position to potentially open up an opportunity of a permanent appointment. To this end I urgently need some quality candidates for consideration from you that are in the fortunate position of being able to be interviewed Monday 4th August and start almost immediately.

The candidates should have:

Ø Specialism in either Mechanical Building Services (Communal Heating) and/or Electrical Building Services

Ø An appropriate professional (or trade) accreditation.

Ø A professional manner and appearance.

Ø Self motivated, solution based team player with the ability to work with the minimum of supervision.

Ø Experience with working on Local Authority Non-Housing/Corporate schemes.

Ø Experience in monitoring programmes and work schedules.

Ø Experience in inspection of work for quality of standard, correct material usage and to identify problems and appropriate solutions to current regulations.

Ø Experience in chairing site meetings, liaison with specialist sub-contactors, technical and non-technical client officers, Head Teachers and external agencies.

Ø Experience in writing and providing technical reports on performance and other information as requested.

Ø Experience in supervising sub-contractors within the requirements of the:

o Standards for customer contact

o Equal opportunities policy

o Health and safety at work act

o Construction Design and Management Regulations

o Building Regulations

o Policies and procedures.

Ø Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

Ø Ability to adhere to and promote and company's EOEP.

Ø Knowledge of schedules of rates, measured term contracts, compilation of specification, drawings, contractual procedures. British standard and codes of practice and current regulations.

Ø Ability to diagnose faults/requirements and report accurately.

Ø Be in possession of a current, valid driving licence and have their own vehicle.
