A top UK and international engineering consultancy with offices throughout the world, with a turnover of approximately C£400M, is looking for a light rail specialist to work on one of the largest light rail schemes in the world as Technical Director.

A regular in the Times top 20 big companies to work for, they have a huge pipeline of work, and are therefore pretty bullish and likely to emerge a winner from the current economic turbulence. They are exclusive design consultants on two extremely high profile, groundbreaking projects in Dubai. They are well established in the region with 500 staff already in place.

They're looking for an experienced individual to work on a rail feasibility project. Tasks would include right of way and construction; Social, economic and environmental impact assessments; ridership estimates and transportation impacts; capital and operating cost estimates and technical memorandum; recommendation of a public transport system, including an investigation of a preferred alignment and associated right of way; consultation and provision of advice to Master Planning consultants; Relevant and focused technical visits to meet preferred system(s) operators and suppliers. This will include inspection of existing running systems.
