Job Description

The council offices are based in the heart of this lively coastal city, which boasts outstanding architecture, famous piers, specialist shops, pavement cafes and vibrant nightlife. Everything is in walking distance, or a short bus ride away from the main town centre.

As an experienced Planning Officer, you will be involved in assisting the work of an area-based team and in particular to process and prepare recommendations in respect of householder and other minor planning applications and applications for consent to display advertisements. You will also be responsible for providing advice to the public.

There are also excellent road and rail links with London and other neighbouring counties, and the authority also promotes healthy and environmentally friendly travel including cycle lanes across the city.
