Job Description
Our London public sector client is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join a busy, proactive and innovative team. Suitable applicants should have approx. 2 years experience in design, consultation and implementation of highway / traffic infrastructure schemes. This may include experience of managing schemes such as:
• Cycling / walking measures
• Public realm improvements i.e. Urban Design
• Traffic calming / reduction
• New carriageway / footway construction
Core skills and experience we seek would include:
• Preliminary / detailed design of a range of projects
• Proficient use of Autocad
• Preparation of cost estimates
• Supervision of sub-ordinate staff
• Supervision / management of contractors
• Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and local authority procedures, in particular good knowledge of London Cycle Design Standards, Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Manual for Streets, Traffic Signs Manuals, etc
• Experience of public consultation exercises, attending and leading public meetings
• Financial / programme management.
