Opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to manage a large road project in Abu Dhabi!

Our client, an Architectural and Engineering Consultancy were established 40 years ago and they are based from the Middle East, but operate across the globe including USA, UK, Canada, Norway, Germany, France and Singapore.

They have recently established an office in Abu Dhabi and are looking for staff for a road / street underpass project. Further details of the project are currently confidential. But I can tell you that the project is a major road project of around three years in duration with potential for further extensions and / or other opportunities.

Basic Responsibilities

» To be responsible for the construction of projects and offer strategic professional advice and technical guidance to the staff
» To be accountable for managing the progress of the projects/s from planning to handover, ensuring the results are in accordance with the project requirements documentation and immediately report any major developments from the requirements in the management meetings
» To be responsible for cost control, budget administration, schedule administration, work breakdown, structure administration, trend and forecast management, progress/performance monitoring and reporting, value engineering estimating and overall control functions for assigned projects of varying sizes and levels of complexity
» To ensure implementation of policies and procedures o achieve success in the monitoring of the work of engineering consultants and/or contractors engaged in the design and construction of projects
» To build, direct and motivate a dedicated construction and project management team for the development of projects.

Minimum Qualifications

» Masters Degree in civil engineering preferably in construction management
» 16-20 years of specialisation in road projects, considerable experience in the management and scheduling of roads, bridges, and tunnels related infrastructure construction projects or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
» Knowledge of project and construction management practices, principles and practices of project control, including scheduling, principals and practices of project design and construction administration, and construction management.
» Knowledge and ability to develop and make practical use of the principals of engineering cost management which embrace activities such as estimating, cost control, value engineering, planning, construction management and risk analysis.
» Competence in a broad range of complex technical or professional work activities
» Communicate confidently with consultants, contractors, and government officials
» Knowledge and ability to develop and maintain project CPM schedules using Pc-based scheduling program (e.g. PRIMAVERA or equivalent)
» MS Office 2000 for report preparation.

Details of the remuneration packages will be discussed in confidence based on experience and qualifications. In addition to salary package they would assist in your relocation to Abu Dhabi.
