Job Description

Duties and responsibilities:

9.1 To provide professional marketing advice to staff, managers, and councilors on all marketing issues, utilising the full mix and range of activity to support the delivery of marketing strategies and material to inform, promote and publicise council activities effectively, including supporting campaigns within specified budgets and post-campaign evaluation.

9.2 To commission and brief freelance photographers / illustrators and ensure quality standards.

9.3 To liaise with printers, distributors and others involved with production as necessary.

9.4 Work closely with News Team to maximise advertising income in Hillingdon People and, as appropriate other council publications.

9.5 Develop new and potential advertisers and sponsors, bringing in income for the council.

9.6 Liaise with advertisers to see that they are accurately informed as to space availability and the scale of charges; negotiate rates and page position and ensure advertisers are correctly invoiced.

9.7 Organise the distribution of Hillingdon people and other council publications, so that they reach the maximum number of households possible.

9.8 Conduct back checks and surveys to establish the effectiveness of the distribution.

9.9 To promote a positive image of the council and the London Borough of Hillingdon through the delivery of the full mix of marketing activities.

9.10 Ensure that all marketing material promotes the diversity of the council and the borough.
9.11 Where appropriate, to provide professional marketing advice and support to external organisations and partners.

9.12 Attend evening and weekend meetings and events as required.
