Traffic Signals Engineer – Central London – Salary to £36k basic

We're working with a world famous, UK based, international engineering consultancy. They are a regular in the Times Top 100 companies to work for, with excellent training and recognition of success. They are looking for a traffic signals engineer to join them at their office in Central London.

Job Summary

The traffic Signals Engineer will work on schemes such as:

Traffic signal feasibility studies, design, installation and commissioning
UTMC (Urban Traffic Management Control)
Journey time reliability
Congestion management
ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition)
CCTV (Closed Circuit TV)
VMS (Variable Message Signs)
Car park guidance

Responsibilities·

Carry out/ manage design and installation of Intelligent Transport Systems
Production of transportation reports and capacity modelling including Linsig and Transyt
Take responsibility for a team of Assistant Engineers and Technicians
Monitor financial status and progress of schemes to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget
Lead in the development of traffic information systems
Production of estimates for schemes
Coordinate the collation and analysis of traffic data

Requirements
Professionally qualified or working towards Incorporated or Chartered status
Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word Computer literate with the aptitude to learn new software packages
Full driving licence
Experience of technical design and / or installation work within a technical field, preferably related to ITS
Experience of project management desirable but not essential
Degree / HNC or HND (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline would be desirable
