Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITEIS:

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

Assist the lead Senior Mechanical Engineer in developing cost effective solutions to a range of mechanical engineering problems and issues within specified time scales.
These will enable both the design solution to be agreed and a final cost that is commercially viable to our client.

Specifying materials,parts & processes from Black and Veatch's client framework suppiers for new and existing designs that will ensure that the final design solution will meet both technical specification and functionality.
ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

A HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering. Ideally CEng IMechE (or equivalent is essential)

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate will have previous consultancy or contractor experience within the water industry (essential)

Design specification development preparation experience (essential)

Sub-contract liaison and understanding the management and implementation of the chosen designs (essential)

Working in intergrated engineering project teams (desirable)
KNOWLEDGE BASE

The role requires a broad range of mechanical equipment knowledge, design, specification writing and project implementation

Pertaining pipe work - pumps and their associated (desirable)
SKILLS:

Ability to balance multiple tasks and achieve deadlines

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must be able to assist and produce well written reports and communicate effectively with team members, sub-consultants, clients and other alliance partners.
