Based in a well located area of west central London – this local authority is currently seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to deal with a range of highway improvement schemes and traffic management projects.

This Clerk of Works is an office based position dealing with the client side of projects. Responsibilities will include monitoring service providers and contractors regarding 6 million pounds worth of improvements and traffic schemes, the successful applicant will also be responsible for project management – seeing schemes through to completion.

Applicants must be experienced in both site work and office based roles, with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft IT packages and spreadsheets. No design work is involved in this role and experience in this area is not a necessity. A sound knowledge of the civil engineering industry in general is highly desirable. Applicants must be bright, keen and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills both written and verbal. This is a responsible position where the successful applicant will be required to deal with a wide variety of contractors and as a result our client is looking for a pro active and independent worker who can ‘hit the ground running’ from day one of the contract.

This role offers real potential for an experienced Clerk of Works looking to move into a project management career path, there is also the opportunity for the successful applicant to move into this role on a permanent basis at a later date if desired
