Project Type: Refurbishment
*Job Description/ Responsibilities:
A site-based Quantity Surveyor is required by my client to manage the financial & contractual administration of a major project. The role is with the Decent Homes Project and managing the refurbishment of kitchens & bathrooms. The successful candidate will require previous experience in a similar refurbishment role.
This role will involve:
" analyses and assessment of sub-contract quotations
" liaising with production and design teams to ensure completeness of the design package.
" negotiating sub-contract packages (in conjunction with the Construction Manager)
" drafting and letting sub-contracts as authorised by the Construction Manager and approved by the Chief Surveyor
" preparing and negotiating interim valuations and final accounts including all necessary measurement
" updating a Variation Account on a monthly basis.
" preparation of monthly cost/value reconciliation and/or cost to complete analysis
" providing advice to Site/Management staff on contractual, valuation and measurement matters.
The successful candidate will also need to monitor Preliminaries/Site Management costs and advise on action to be taken to remedy over-expenditure.
*Key Experience / Skills Required: A previous role in a similar position would be desirable.
*Qualifications / Professional Memberships required: HNC Construction/Building Studies or equivalent
