Job Description
Fit out Managers for a Basement Construction Company. Established basement design and construction company working throughout London. The company has been operating for fourteen years and has grown significantly in the last two years. Due to this growth the company is now looking for additional Fit out Managers to work on new residential basement projects.
Role and Responsibilities:
• Job planning including some method statements and development of programmes and budgets.
• Ordering materials and co-ordinating deliveries.
• Instruction of labour on site.
• Ongoing review and inspection of works on site ensuring safety and conformity to plans and incorporated variations.
• Maintenance of site health and safety.
• Leading, motivating and organising site staff.
• Cost monitoring on projects including oversight of ongoing material, plant and labour costs.
• Interaction with Contract Engineer, Design Engineers and Clients during job covering temporary and permanent works.
• Weekly estimate of quantities used and value of work done.
The Position would suit an energetic and intelligent people who have come from a Construction Management route or from a good Trades background. You should enjoy the independence of running your own jobs from start to finish, covering all construction and fit out aspects. High standards are required of Fit out Managers due to the responsible nature of the position since you are usually working in someone’s home where the owner is in residence during the works.
The Successful Candidate will have several years’ experience of temporary works, preferably in a refurbishment or similar environment. An individual with specific basement construction experience will be at an advantage. Candidates who have worked for Harry Neal, Verry Construction, Kilby & Gayford or large Basement Construction companies would be well suited to the role.
Academic Qualifications are not essential, rather evidence of having worked successfully to a high quality in confined spaces within time frames and budget. Commercially you should have demonstrated the ability to contribute to the management of projects to a budget, and be aware of good management skills.
The Company is well situated to win further work in today’s uncertain market and will provide an excellent opportunity for an assured self-starter. Candidates will only be considered who can prove that they are legally entitled to legally live and work in the UK.
Salary: £42 to £45,000 neg. plus bonus, car/allowance and expenses.
