Job Description

Civils Foreman / Supervisor required immediately. This is an additional requirement for a Civils Contractor as they continue to pick up work in and around the M25. This is likely to be one of a number of projects secured as developments that were on hold are now released for construction.

The Role involves supervising, motivating and encouraging the Contractor’s directly employed labour force as they carry out the works on these highly visible areas of hard landscaping. You will also be expected to be able to organise and maintain basic daily records and production sheets. You must be capable of organising a Term Maintenance Contract that includes, Civils upgrades, Hard landscaping, concrete repairs, groundworks and infrastructure works.

Hours. Due to the requirement of this job to minimise disruption to local businesses, the role will require a degree of flexibility and you will work a 40 hour week to include early and late shifts and some weekend work.

You may have come from an Engineering background and enjoy the wider role, or from a trades origin and be making the move to management. This role will require a fair degree of accurate record keeping and IT skills would be beneficial. You are likely to have over 6 years site or field experience with at least 3 years in the UK, NRSWA and CSCS cards would be preferred.

Requirement. The ideal candidate for this role will be a person with loads of drive and enthusiasm, a desire to provide high quality workmanship and finishes, with a pro-active and positive attitude towards Health & Safety. You must possess a current CSCS card, whilst a valid driving licence and possession of NRSWA certification and ideally a First Aid qualification would be excellent. A Trades or Engineering background is equally acceptable as long as you have clear written and oral communication skills.

Roads & Highways experience and knowledge required for this position. You should be conversant with Road and Highway construction, with first hand knowledge of the processes involved and the sequence of construction that is entailed. Experience in Town Centre Improvements, traffic calming, pedestrianisation schemes, Red Route construction and bus lane improvements would be ideal.

Term Maintenance Contracts are carried out for a number of local authorities in the London area by this established company. Projects included road improvement schemes, new roads, bridges over rivers and railways, village bypass schemes, main drainage schemes, subways and tunnels
