Site Manager, RC & Timber frame, Residential. Live requirement for a company based near Croydon. The project is situated at Camberwell.

Requirement. We are looking for a Site Manager who would be totally responsible for a new residential development. The site is currently being cleared with demolition ongoing and site clearance underway. Based in Camberwell you will be involved at the outset of the job, having an important role in the project.

The Project. 83 flats in multiple blocks for a local housing association. RC basement for car parking for some 35 – 40 vehicles with accommodation on the ground and upper floors. RC sub structure in the basement and Ground floor with timber frames for the top 4 – 5 storeys. Then traditional construction in part to incorporate masonry and pre-cast floor slabs. You will take the project through to completion and handover to the client.

Site Manager. You will have a background in residential developments, either working alone or as a number 2 on a larger scheme. Coming from a trades or technical background you will have a minimum of 6 - 8 years site experience, have worked on a number of similar projects and be capable of taking full charge of the site, reporting to a visiting Contracts Manager. You must have experience in below ground RC basements and structures.

Qualifications. Tertiary or trade certificated, 5 day Site Manager’s certificate, CSCS carded and holding a current First Aid qualification.

The Company. An established Design & Build contractor, involved in a mix of social and private housing, in new build and refurbishment sectors, specialise in finding and reclaiming sites, identifying their full potential, based on their size, shape, accessibility and immediate surroundings, always taking into account the local planning authority's housing policy.

Conditions. Your working hours would generally be 0800 to 1700 or 0730 to 1630 x 5 days per week, 20 days holiday per year of which 1 week is taken at Xmas. The proposed salary package would be £43,000 to £45,000, though this is negotiable, based on experience, with twice yearly bonuses, plus expenses.
