Quantity Surveyor, Residential Design & Build. This is an additional requirement by a successful Contractor working in London and the south-east. The role will involve both site and Head Office duties, so you must be prepared to travel within London.

The Role requires the skills of a Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 4 years UK based practical construction experience working on Residential, Commercial or mixed use projects. Experience may have been gained working for a Main Contractor, a Developer or a substantial sized Contractor. The role will see you working on the Build and Fit Out elements of multi-storey new build residential schemes that are already under construction.

The initial Project is a multi-storey Residential RC frame. The Company is the Principal Contractor and is carrying out the works through to Fit Out and final handover. A recent period of working on Residential Fit Out for Residential schemes would be particularly relevant. The project will continue for the next 2 years.

Requirements of the Role include:
• Commercial management of subcontractors including processing payments
• Monitor cost of site resources, allocated and taken up
• Manage the applications for payment and credit control processes, maximise income, together with all processes in connection with costing and forecasting.
• Manage documentation to support monthly and quarterly completion cost targets
• Monthly profit / loss operational statements and explanations for any variations
• Development, preparation and commercial management of sub-contract orders from initial enquiry to agreement of final accounts.
• Design and Build project experience would be desirable, however it is not essential
• JCT forms of contract experience is ideal
• Ability to provide commercial advice to the site team in connection with all project issues
• Attending and providing input to project start-up and finalisation meetings
• Able to provide accurate and current commercial advice to the Project team
• Take part in discussions concerning project performance and provide commercial input
• Promote the Company and suggest improvements to site procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:
• BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or a Construction related subject to tertiary level
• Successful experience at Project QS level
• Enhanced knowledge of construction procedures and working methods
• Good understanding of basic contract law and contractual obligations
• Able to carry out the full range of surveying duties from procurement through to final account

Salary and Rewards. £60,000 basic plus a negotiable package to suit is offered and interested candidates should apply as the salary is a guide and stronger applicants will be evaluated on merit.
