An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Traffic Engineer in one of the UK's largest consultancies specialising in Highways and Transportation. Operations include highways, rail, property, housing, gas, water, and management consultancy in a wide range of disciplines. Over 11,000 employees, more than 80 offices in the UK, and a turnover in excess of £375m.

About the Role

An opportunity to assist on the delivery of diverse portfolio of projects to deliver high quality and varied traffic engineering services in the fields of bus priority, cycling, safety, walking, streetscene design, junction improvements, parking and other traffic management schemes to our client in London.

In this role, you'll develop and manage client relationships to achieve client satisfaction by ensuring a high standard of technical work is delivered on time and within budget. You'll be responsible for promoting team working to ensure all team members meet project objectives. Some other responsibilities will be monitoring costs and financial performance to identify variances and take corrective action, as well as setting targets for and appraising junior team members, ensuring they receive day-to-day guidance, support and advice when appropriate.

We are looking for a qualified professional with a sound knowledge of
project management, design and highway construction along with practical experience of design standards within a highway engineering environment.

As a senior engineer role, we're looking for a team player who can mentor less experienced members of the team and has the ability to communicate key issues in a clear and concise manner. Naturally, you'll have a recognised degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering or transportation, as well as experience in the traffic/transportation field. You'll also need knowledge of project and financial management techniques/processes.
