Department Description
Due to progressive expansion of our rail division we urgently require a new project manager within the south east of England. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in the UK's infrastructure development and be accredited with accomplishing leading engineering projects and designs. Our Client has a vested interest in the rail sector; we have world class experience in delivering projects such as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, Air Track and the development of St. Pancras International. As a project manager you will be and outstanding individual, working for and with one of the most knowledgeable teams in the country who are academically acclaimed and also recognised in their field of excellence. All you have to do is join them.
Key Objectives
The role will involve managing multi-disciplinary engineers, co-ordinating budgets, working with our clients and developing already strong relationships and over seeing lead engineers and their work. You role will be to focus the efforts of the team to meet the developed programme of works and provide the support network required to deliver to schedule.
Key Responsibilities
· to represent Client as project manager on rail development projects · manage the project with a variety of specialist inputs from other parts of rail team· the role involves close liaison with clients and other parties related to planning as a single point of contact for all Client's activities on a given project· ensuring my client meets its commercial targets within the project
Job Requirements
Suitable candidates will have experience in infrastructure projects and strong experience of engineering project management. We are open on background, though you will be required to have worked and have knowledge of engineering and the business sector.You will also need: · the ability to manage a team· experience of high level communication both internal and external to the organisation· a good understanding of commercial processes and procedures· HNC (or equivalent) or higher in a relevant field of expertise, other qualifications would be a bonus but we are more interested in your experience than academic achievement.
