Job Description

Description Due to an increase in workload, we are seeking a Geo technical Engineer to manage and undertake geotechnical design work for a wide variety of interesting projects from our London office. These projects include foundations, earthworks, retaining structures, and embankments. You will liaise with project teams of varying complexity and size.

Key Objectives
The principal function of this position is to:

Assist with the investigation, design and construction monitoring of a wide variety of projects in London, the UK and overseas. You will be working on geotechnical aspects of projects in all business groups.
Key Responsibilities
The priorities of this role include:

·planning and designing ground investigations
·preparation of technical specifications.
·undertaking geotechnical calculation and design work
·monitoring construction works
·preparing technical notes and geotechnical reports
·liaising with contractors and clients, both external and internal
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge. These points should align with the key areas of responsibility:

· fluent in both verbal and written English
· numerate with geotechnical design experience (slopes, foundations, earthworks)
· familiar with geotechnical design software Slope/W, Seep/W, Reward, Frew, Holebase or similar
· team player
·first Degree in Civil Engineering (preferably) or Engineering Geology
·MSc in Soil Mechanics or Engineering Geology
