Job Description
Junior Materials Buyer. Additional work and a good order book, is good news and means that this local developer builder requires a Junior / Trainee Materials Buyer to assist the Chief Buyer. With the recent award of additional Housing Association new build contracts this successful company requires an additional Junior / Trainee Materials Buyer to assist in their annual turnover of some 200 properties.
The initial projects vary from 15 to 80 units and an understanding of negotiating on prices and sourcing competitive suppliers to supply materials on new residential blocks including cladding, new windows, kitchens and bathrooms and M & E Services would be advantageous. With a rolling rotation some of the contracts are just about to start, others are underway, whilst there are a number of starts on site confirmed.
Head Office Based:
* Applicants may be required to visit site from time to time
* ideally 1-2 years experience in buying / purchasing department
* Relevant Purchasing qualification advantageous but not essential
* Clean Smart Appearance
* Long Term Team Player
* Computer Literate with a Sound Knowledge of Excel

The suitable applicant will preferably live in South London and ideally must have experience working on new build Housing Association projects, be enthusiastic and commercially aware.
The role will be Head Office based and reporting to the Senior Buyer, initially involving considerable administrative skills and evolving as you develop; you may also be required to work from the client’s site offices from time to time. The successful person must be a good communicator, enjoy working within a team environment and will be fully involved in a variety of commercial aspects of the project.
