Job Description
An opportunity has arisen to join an exciting Transport Planning Division (TPL) based in the central London. TPL is looking for a Divisional Manager/Associate Transport Planner to work on a wide range of projects throughout London. A competitive package will be on offer commensurate with relevant and appropriate experience
You will be required to:
·Develop new business in London
·Help deliver the Middle East strategy
·To maintain and develop relationships with key clients
·Using mathematical and computerised simulation models to predict the effects of different road or public transport schemes
·Assessing the transport effects and infrastructure requirements (access, car parking, bus stops, cycle parking, etc) of new developments, to support planning applications or to inform local authority development plans
·To lead and manage a portfolio of transport projects
·Financial management of projects
·Potential management of projects right across the Business Unit
·Production of written reports and other documents.
·Help build team
About You
Qualifications
Candidates should have a first degree or equivalent in one of the subjects listed below and, ideally, a postgraduate degree in transport planning or traffic engineering. Corporate Membership of recognised professional institute essential (e.g IHT, ILT; ICE)
Civil Engineering; Mathematics; Transport Planning/Engineering; Geography; Economics
Experience
In depth experience in transport planning occupation, in either the public or the private sector would be expected with evidence of developing responsibilities within this career. This should include a range of transport planning applications and the development of personal capability in one or more of the following fields:
·Transport modelling and analysis
·Highway or public transport scheme appraisal
·Traffic and Economics Appraisal
·Policy and Strategy development
Competencies/Personal Attributes
Potential candidates will need to show evidence of the following:
·Numeracy and the ability to interpret data;
·Good problem solving skills (finding a range of solutions, understanding their effects and making recommendations);
·The ability to work and lead a team productively;
·Supervisory capability;
·Computer literacy;
·An interest in transport and urban regeneration issues.
