Job Description

Civils Quantity Surveyors for Brisbane, Australia. Major new project. Excellent opportunity for Civils Quantity Surveyors at all levels to join this progressive Contractor on a major project. The scope of works is such that Quantity Surveyors with at least 1 years post qualification experience, in major/heavy civils projects, will be considered.

Experience gained working on Bridges, Motorways, Airports, Rail structures and the heavy end of Civils Construction will all be relevant.

Duties and Responsibilities will be project specific and include:
• Preparation of cost plans in support of the Design Management and Construction Management processes
• Estimation and forecasting of costs to completion
• Undertake independent Earned Value analysis
• Preparation of recommendations for award of subcontractor packages
• Assistance with the negotiation of subcontracts
• Preparing and presenting cost management advice
• Interpreting and offering advice on forms of contract
• Managing the process of the preparation of subcontractor's payment recommendations
• Managing the process of Measuring & valuing variations
• Managing the process of Agreement of final accounts
• Attending meetings with clients and contractors
• Management of other members of staff, both Quantity Surveyors and Measurement Technicians

Skills & Experience Required:
• A Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent from a UK or internationally recognized university is essential;
• Extensive post graduate experience is required to allow independent working & the management of junior staff
• Achievement of, or your advanced progression towards MRICS or MCIOB or equivalent qualification is highly desirable
• Demonstrable experience on your CV of your ability to perform unassisted a number of the quantity surveying duties listed above
• Experience of managing junior and other quantity surveying staff and of taking full responsibility for project progress and completion
• Experience of a Quantity Surveying role on projects is desirable to assist swift integration into the massive projects
• IT proficient with extensive exposure to spreadsheets

Location / Re-Location:
The Contractor is seeking Antipodeans keen to return to the warmer climes and is also prepared to assist in visas and sponsorship for non Australian nationals who are suitably qualified. A fantastic chance to work in a magnificent country on major projects.

Salary Packages will range from $110, 000 to $160,000 Australian dollars, though these rates can be adjusted to reflect the individual qualities of the applicants. In the first instance please forward your cv.
