My client is one of the UK's leading civil engineering contractors, operating throughout most of England. They work for a wide client base of both public sector bodies and private companies, carrying out a variety of works including major highways, bridges, tunnelling, infrastructure and environmental schemes.

•This is a senior site based position. The Engineering Manager will report to the Project Manager.

•The role calls for a chartered civil engineer with extensive experience of working on large highways projects, preferably with a major contractor.

•The Engineering Manager will have responsibility for all engineering functions on the project, including management of the following site based departments and personnel:

Document Control
Materials Testing
Quality Control
Designer liaison
Traffic Safety and Control Officer
Planning and Programming
Temporary Works design, review of designs by others, and inspection of installations
Statutory Undertakers Coordinator
Issue of permits, to dig, to load etc
Liaison with construction teams on all engineering issues, including review of method statements and risk assessments
