Job Description
Cheshire County Council is looking for an Engineering Assistant to join the Highways team based in Winsford. The role will be dealing with all traffic and transportation issues in Vale Royal and require liaising with councillors and members of the public.
The varied and interesting workload includes managing congestion, speed and on-street parking and delivering various schemes through the Local Transport Plan. You will also deal with planning issues affecting the Highway making sure that we secure private funding for transport schemes to limit the effects of new development. We are also responsible for looking after long term strategic transport issues such as the ‘Northwich Vision' town centre regeneration.
Currently seeking somebody with proven experience in traffic engineering - in particular, sign and lining design using KeySIGN / KeyLINES and highways development control. The post holder will be involved in all areas of our work but this will be concentrated mainly around the design and provision of signing and lining schemes and some reviewing of developer's Transport Assessments.
