Job Description

Our County Council client is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer. The successful candidate will have part-responsibility for delivery of parts of the County Council’s Local Transport Plan. And direct responsibility for the design, construction and supervision of highway and/or transportation improvements and maintenance projects or related services. The candidate profile:

• Significant professional knowledge and/or post qualification experience within structural engineering design, construction and maintenance.
• Significant knowledge of structural design, construction and maintenance standards and procedures, including broad understanding of highway and transportation engineering design and construction procedures and techniques.
• Knowledge of techniques applicable to solving structural problems in a safe manner.
• Detailed knowledge of corporate procedures and understanding of statutory procedures in the construction industry.
• Sound knowledge and experience of contract preparation and management, including experience in determining and monitoring costs and programmes.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations within construction.
