Job Description

An experienced and professional Coastal Engineer is required to join our clients Greater London office. Working for a major consultancy and leader in the coastal sector this would be a brilliant opportunity to build on your current experience. Our client is committed and focused to the management of safe and sustainable coastal regimes and are currently working on a number of exciting projects here in the UK and internationally. Some of these include cliff remediation, developing coastal protection programmes, beach management, overwater cable laying and rehabilitation of coastal defences.

The Coastal sector is getting more and more popular, public interest makes these projects high profile and there for even more tough and demanding on the Coastal Engineer. This role is not only technically diverse but also business and management focused. As a Coastal engineer you will be working on Coastal Process Studies and management plans, also feasibility studies, the preparation of contact documents and packages and the overall business development of your team. You will also be in charge of the detailed designing of Coastal protection structures and the management of your teams design works.

Reporting to the Head of Coastal Management our client is looking for a Coastal Engineer that will be able to start this role and make it there own. A candidate with exceptionally experiences obtained within the coastal sector. An engineer with sound technically experience and proven business development experience including bid preparation, report writing, client consulting and team management. Ideally experience in hydrodynamic issues associated with coastal engineering including wave height development, wave run-up over topping and coastal flood issues would be advantageous. A degree (or equivalent) in Civil, Coastal or related area of engineering is required and Chartership will be classed as advantageous.
