Senior Quantity Surveyor Northern Home Counties
Salary c £40,000 + car allowance + benefits

We are looking for 2 Senior Quantity Surveyors to join an expanding commercial team in this fast growing contractor based in the Northern Home Counties. Specialising in timber frames and with a business focus in the Education Sector they are well placed to grow and profit from current and emerging market trends.

Typical projects are £500k up to £4m and last from 16 to 30 weeks including design acceptance to completion. You will normally be handling around 4 projects at any one time based on complexity and size of project. The role will require travelling to meet clients and attend monthly site and valuation meetings across mainland UK although 75- 80% of time will be spent in the office.

Duties include:

·Prepare and agree cost estimates and quotations
·Sub Contract Procurement
·Preparation, submission and agreement of valuations and variations
·Cost and Value forecasting and reconciliation
·Preparation and agreement of final accounts

These roles would suit an ambitious self-starter looking to develop into a commercial management role and able to work under own initiative, managing you time effectively and projects with limited supervision.

This is a small team and the successful Quantity Surveyors will also need to be able to work closely with other business functions to fully understand briefs and projects and to ensure required specifications, drawings and details are available when needed.

Experience of handling smaller multi-site projects is desirable and candidates working as site based QS's with major Blue Chip companies or from a civil engineering background are unlikely to have the required experience. Experience of timber framed construction not essential but will be of advantage.
