Job Description

This diverse and challenging London Borough seeks a Senior Arboricultural Officer for a 3-6month contract with possibilities of extension. We are seeking an officer who has experience in:- Support the development, review and implementation of the borough open space strategy.
- Liaise with friends, community and voluntary groups on arboriculture, environmental and ecological issues and oversee the preparation of arboricultural and environmental information for displays, shows and other events.
- Undertake environmental and amenity assessments, flora/fauna audits and provide technical input into access licence applications, environmental and tree protection recommendations and method statements.
- Liaise with and advise Council Members and officers including development control officers and strategic planners on ecological, environmental and tree-related issues such as biodiversity, Tree Preservation Orders, Conservation Areas, development proposals, S106 funding and Unitary Development Plan/Strategic Development Framework.
