Local Authority seeking experienced Building Surveyors to work on public building inspections and maintenance.

Working under the head of Design Services you will be inspecting public buildings such as schools, universities and libraries then drawing up a report and schedule for necessary works.

The successful candidate will be an all rounder with a good understanding of common problems including dry rot, woodworm, leaks and rising damp. Excellent report writing skills are required including sketching ability and proficiency of NBS Specification Writer for scheduling the works. The role will include working on site with clients and also with contractors to ensure the work is carried out to specification.

This role will suit either a chartered or just plain talented building surveyor who has previous and relevant experience in the public sector. Candidates with a solid track record and a loyal work history will have a distinct advantage.

Salary between £30 and 45 K - depending on experience + car allowance + benefits
Start Date: December 2008
Location: London – Zone 2
