Job Description

Surveying Engineers, Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers. Main Contractor working on a new Civils project starting in Queensland. Experienced Surveying Engineers with Mining and Tunnelling especially in demand, with expertise on major Civils, Road or Rail expertise also particularly relevant.

Contractors Requirement. Surveying Engineers at Section, Senior or Sub Agent level with heavy Civils, Mining, Tunnelling, Roads, Rail or heavy structures experience. Ideally degree qualified in a Civil Engineering or relevant discipline with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience on major UK projects working for internationally recognised main Contractors such as Balfour Beatty, Nuttall, Carillion, Skanska, McAlpine, Laing O’Rourke or similar Contractors.

Employer. A Main Contractor with a substantial project just starting is seeking to expand their directly employed workforce and to develop those people’s careers as they move onto further schemes that are currently going through the planning procedures.

Project Experience. Generally involving aspects of some or all the following Civils operations; Mining, Tunnelling, Demolition, Excavation and Piling, perhaps some river or marine work, then large structures such as bridges, substantial retaining walls, abutments, with associated temporary works as required, including considerable amounts of external works including road, rail and river diversions.

Qualifications. Ideally qualified to Degree level in Civil Engineering, Mining, Tunnelling or Survey Engineering with the appropriate ongoing and up to date training and career progression. You will demonstrate a career minded path and be expected to commit to the success of the project.

Your background. You must be able to demonstrate considerable experience in some of the areas described above, be interested in a career opportunity and be keen to become involved in major projects. Strong written and oral communication skills, current technical knowledge, up to date Health & Safety awareness will all be expected. Reference checks will be made to validate your application.

Salary Bands. Senior Project Engineers with 5 – 10 years experience can expect $110,000 to $140,000 plus 10% site allowance and bonus with company benefits package; Project Engineers with 3 – 5 years site experience can expect $90,000 to $110,000 plus 10% site allowance plus bonus and package.
