Groundworks Foreman / Ganger for Residential & Infrastructure. Watford based, to cover an area from the M4 to the M11, mainly outside the M25. You must have a current driving licence.

The Company is a Groundworks and Civil Engineering contractor that has been successfully trading for over 10 years. Working principally for major housing developers, constructing roads, sewers, groundworks and associated infrastructure for new residential developments. The company intends to build on this and to run their own development projects. Contracts range in value from £50k to £6 - 7 million, and currently their annual turnover exceeds £20 million.

You will preferably live in the north-west London area and will be generally expected to travel to sites within approximately a 1 hour radius of your home. Covering from 1 to 3 sites depending on the particular requirements of each site you would be provided with a company vehicle or a good car allowance, with additional benefits of exceptional bonuses plus 20 days annual holiday.

Experience. Probably with a minimum of 8 years practical experience, working for a groundworks contractor, you will either have a recognised qualification in the relevant disciplines or be able to demonstrate considerable practical skills, being fully conversant with current civils and groundworks construction methods. The Role can be either fully supervisory or part supervisory / part “hands on” based on the individual’s level, as the Company currently have some 25 sites running and can accommodate either level of applicant.

Profile. Ideally a First Aider and with a current driving licence, CSCS, SMSTS ticketed, NRSWA with tickets for 360’s or similar, you will be capable of taking responsibility in the field, organising the day to day site activities, working and planning operations with a visiting Contracts Manager, some degree of record and activity logging will be expected, though IT skills are optional.

Payment for suitably qualified candidates includes a good shift allowance, company vehicle and good potential bonuses.
