As a result of our continuing success locally, a number of opportunities have become available in our client's Newcastle and Durham offices. They are looking for talented individuals to form part of multi-disciplinary teams to work on a variety of projects for Northumbrian Water, including a Senior Modeller.
The role will provide a range of challenging, dynamic and high-profile projects which will offer fantastic career development.
Technical inputs and management of projects for sewer flooding, combined sewer overflow development, and water quality management
Report and proposal writing
Project and team management
Development of junior staff
Client liaison
Essential requirements:
A degree in a relevant subject or equivalent
Experience in the field of hydraulic modelling development/ management
A sound understanding of UK and EU water resources legislation and regulation
InfoWorks and Drainage Area Planning experience
Ability to work with the minimum of supervision and on own initiative
Candidates should have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and external clients/contacts at all times
Possess excellent time and resource management skills
Experience working in or with a multi-disciplinary design consultancy
Desirable requirements:
Programming skills in Visual Basic and GIS skills would be an advantage
Ideally experience working in UK water design engineering
A postgraduate qualification in hydrogeology, water resources engineering or similar subjects, or equivalent
Knowledge of other modelling techniques including groundwater modelling and river models
