Job Description

The water/infrastructure team in Manchester of an internatiobal engineering consultancy is looking to recruit a water engineer to join their team.
This is an opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team, carrying out water and infrastructure related work in our client's Manchesteroffice under the guidance of an Associate Director as part of the support to their established water infrastructure section within the buildings and infrastructure unit of this international engineering consultancy.
The role you will be in involves:
Carrying out water engineering and related works in the Manchester office
Assessment of dams, reservoirs, water engineering hydraulics, contract administration and flood risk
Working on schemes for utilities companies, developers and land owners, local authorities, Government organisations, as well as internal clients.
Outline and detailed design of water and environment related projects.
Project management of medium scale civil engineering design projects.
Recent water infrastructure projects in the North West office include Feasibility Studies for Canal Infrastructure Repairs, Big Wood Reservoir Regeneration, Metrolink Phase 3 Ground Investigations, Ashton Canal Corridor Regeneration, Sealing of Cromford Canal, Swinsty Reservoir Outlet Mains Replacement, Washburn Valley Reservoirs Overflow Remedial Works.
Candidate specification
Essential qualifications, experience, competencies and skills:


Near Chartered or Chartered civil engineer.
Experience of water engineering design and water administration.
Experience in civil engineering at a senior level.
Experience in general water engineering, external works design, and flood studies, including knowledge and use of relevant software.
Experience of working with Auto CAD.
Ability to carry out technical design and report writing.
Confident at presentations.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and clients.
Appropriate numerate and computation skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Project and Excel.
Desired competencies/skills include:


Experience of hydraulic design, flood estimation, earthworks and structural concrete design for flood defences.
Experience in Project Management.
Ability to work in teams and be a team player.

Rate/Salary £28000-37500 pa
