Job Description

One of our major clients requires a Geotechnical Engineer to work on the London Underground infrastructure. The contract involves undertaking ground investigations of earthwork structures (embankments and cuttings) in the LUL Network.

Personal Specification
3 yrs relevant post graduate experience.
A thorough understanding of relevant codes of practice and specifications for ground investigation work (BS5930, BS1377, Specification for Ground Investigation etc)
Experience of Holebase or similar Geotechnical log databases and familiar with the AGS data format.
Experience working within the rail environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities
The successful applicant/s will be appointed as Site Agents, taking overall responsibility for individual Ground Investigation contracts from the planning stage, through to production of final factual reports.

Some of the Key Responsibilities will include:

• Site management drilling and labour teams and key sub-contractors and suppliers
• Managing safety at site level - working to agreed method statements and risk assessments
• Logging of soils to BS5930 and production of typed Engineers Logs using the Holsbase III system
• Co-ordinating laboratory testing
• Collation of site records and their presentation
