Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Manager to be responsible for facilitating divisional compliance with legislative, corporate and other requirements in relation to health and safety. The successful Senior Health & Safety Manager will be joining a growing company with traditional values, who are continuing to thrive despite the uncertain economic times. The role is based in Hertfordshire, but you will be required to travel throughout the UK.

You will report directly the Civils / Rail Divisional Director for HSEQ matters, amd you will be responsible for managing all activities related to the implementation, development and maintenance of the Safety Management Systems (SMS) for the Civils and Rail Divisions.

Ideally you should have the following qualifications and experience:

• Health & safety experience in Civil / Rail engineering.
• NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Safety & Health.

• NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health.

• CSCS card holder.

• A qualified lead health & safety auditor with demonstrable experience of completing internal and second-party audits.

• An understanding of the requirements of BS OHSAS 18001:2007 and experience in facilitating registration surveillance visits.

• A working knowledge of current and impending health & safety legislation.

You will also need excellent presentation, written, analytical and IT skills, and be skilled at delivering training throughout all levels of an organisation.
