Job Description

DipSW or CQSW or CSS GSCC Registration Post Qualification award • Knowledge of Child Care Law • Awareness of Disability Issues especially pertaining to children and young people • Good understanding of the legislation and needs of Carers including Young Carers • Knowledge of child development • Risk Assessment appraisal • Good understanding of equal opportunities and anti oppressive practice • Experience of working within Child Care • Direct experience of working with children with disabilities and their families • Knowledge of Child Protection procedures • Experience of working with Statutory and Voluntary organisations • Experience of project development • Experience of using statistics to plan work Ability to seek out and understand the expectations and needs of customers/clients Ability to set, monitor and maintain high standards of service delivery Ability to produce new ideas, approaches or insights and create innovative outcomes Ability to adapt service delivery in order to accommodate cultural, religious and other differences Ability to communicate clearly, fluently, concisely and appropriately orally, in writing and electronically to a high standard Ability to network and establish good working relationships Ability to understand and follow procedures and policies and keep to schedules Ability to operate data management using IT as necessary Ability to be effectively mobile around the Borough.
