Buyer/ Senior Buyer
Central London
Salary Up to £45K DOE Experience, Qualifications and Location

Our client is one of the UK's largest main contractors working on multiple £100M + civil projects. They now require Buyer/ Senior Buyer with major civil project experience to work on the redevelopment of a major rail station; one of the most significant project currently being undertaken in Central London.
Job description
Identify enquiry packages, prepare and issue. Able to source and apply appropriate procurement routes Comply with all procurement processes & procedures
Carry out quotation analysis, evaluation and selection of vendors, present tender reviews / recommendation reports to project management teams Lead subcontract and major supply pre-let meetings. Prepare and place significant subcontract and major material supply orders. Manage and closes out strategic tender and contract negotiations. Close out subcontract documentation in consultation with the project team, prepare package strategies and implementation plans Prepare, manage and co-ordinate the procurement programme. Expedite quotes and deliveries Achieve targets set by Procurement Manager and prepare and present reports in a timely & accurate manner
This role will include an interface with both internal and external clients. Monitor vendor performance, increases performance levels and mitigate poor performance
You will have
* Degree educated or HND/HNC equivalent
* CIPS qualified or working towards qualification
* Team player
* Relationship Management Skills
* Communication and influencing skills
* Knowledge of industry standard Main Contracts and Subcontracts
* Cost reduction techniques
* Risk Management experience
* Advanced negotiation skills
* Significant procurement experience in a Construction, Civil Engineering or Rail environment
