Design Co-Ordination Manager
Central London
Salary Up to £50K DOE Experience, Qualifications and Location

Our client is one of the UK's largest main contractors working on multiple £100M + civil projects. They now require a Design Co-ordination Manager (Station and Building Works) with major civil project experience to work on the redevelopment of a major rail station; one of the most significant project currently being undertaken in Central London.

•Development, production and delivery of designs for a specific sector of the project
•Development of construction methodology and sequencing of works.
•Includes interfacing with third parties, supply chain and employers staff for permanent and temporary works designs for all building works.

Areas of responsibility

Site based Design Co-ordination manager
Liaising with the employer's project team, company teams and supply chain on:
•Building specific design
•Engineering
•Planning
•Programme Matters
•Ensuring the construction proposals for both permanent and temporary works are in accordance with the approved designs.
•Liaise with Temporary Works Coordinator review
•Supporting planning manager on design
•Reporting areas of concern
•Monitoring programme on: Planning of works, design related safety hazards, work methods, production design and submissions
•Buildability reviews

Particular attention to be paid to:
•Overall stability of any structures
•Interfaces between separate designed elements
•Points of concentrated load
•Earthworks: selection and interpretation of soil parameters and factors of safety
•Slopes: overall slip surfaces in founding materials
•Dewatering
•Falsework
•Formwork
•Major lifting operations
