The Commercial Director will provide commercial guidance to Business Units, Programme Functions and Senior Management team.
The role is responsible for ensuring all risks, liabilities and commitments of contractual agreements by the business are identified and that all contracts balance risk with appropriate potential profitability. The Commercial Director will work with all departments to ensure cohesive pricing strategies, leading customer and subcontractor negotiations as appropriate.
Responsibilities include Pricing Strategies, Commercial Process Ownership, commercial development, confidentiality, current legislation and contract law, subcontract Management, and supporting all tender and bid proposal activity.
Our blue chip client is a major player in the civil engineering industry. The opportunity has arisen to join the company in the role of Commercial Director based at Heathrow Airport and to lead and manage the commercial strategies, activities, contracts, systems and processes.
This is a senior role and a fantastic career opportunity - The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and possess a relevant business qualification. Broad experience within the UK in an engineering industry is required.

Candidates must have the following experience:

• Main contractor background as a Commercial Director
• Minimum 15 years Quantity Surveying experience
• Chartered is preferable
• Construction and Airport experience essential
• Successfully managed a commercial management team/ surveyors
• Worked on projects up to £100 million

A degree level formal qualification in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying or another relevant field is highly desirable, as will be membership of an internationally recognised professional institute such as the RICS.
