Job Description

Our client provides a wide range of geotechnical services to private and public sector clients both in the UK and overseas.

Projects are usually either development style jobs where a process might involve a combination of desk study, SI contract management, production of risk assessment documents to support planning applications, provision of engineering advice and/or calculations and project/financial management of the geotechnical part of the project. These projects can vary from very large (£100M) PFI style jobs, to small commercial developments.

The other major style of project is related to civil engineering works in areas such as infrastructure, aviation, roads, public health and civil structures. These projects typically involve, SI contract management, provision of engineering advice, calculations and design and project/financial management. Occasionally such projects might require sophisticated analysis of the soil-structure interaction using FE modelling techniques.

This work takes place within a small and busy team.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing clients briefs and winning the business
• Effectively manage own time which may be allocated to more than one
• Leading and managing teams of senior and junior engineers and technical staff to deliver geotechnical projects
• Helping to win work and then providing a responsive, customer focused service to external and internal clients.
• Provision of engineering advice and/or design
• Assisting clients with planning applications through the production of risk assessment documents and by liaising with LA's.
• Project management including financial management of the geotechnical parts of projects.
