Job Description
Qualified Architect or Civil Engineer required to manage the Design department for leading consultancy in Saudi Arabia.
Established for over 3 decades the company is one of the premier firms in the region with offices spread across the Kingdom and a reputation for excellence in civil and building construction. They are part of a larger group with huge success across The Middle East and are currently expanding on their already strong portfolio of heavy construction, civil works and operation/maintenance relating to those works.
You will be leading the design team on-site and coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, other departments, clients and third parties to monitor design related activities and ensure they are performed in a timely manner in line with contract requirements. You will use your excellent communication, interpersonal, planning and organisation skills to co-ordinate and develop shop drawings, MEP works, structural specifications and calculations, then execute plans and programs to achieve set goals.
Professional knowledge in codes, standards, regulations, materials, construction methods and procedures is required along with the ability to interpret codes. You will have excellent managerial skills in order to lead technical meetings with consultants, subcontractors and clients. You will use your honed problem solving skills to develop systems and procedures related to engineering activities and organisation skills to manage communication and maintenance of drawings and related documents.
The successful candidate must have a B.Sc. degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering, a minimum of 8 years experience in civil, structural or architectural engineering and previous experience in providing on-site technical assistance to project staff, efficiently solving technical problems and dealing with RFI's. The focus of this role is to make sure all clients' claims are being resolved and their requirements are met.
