Job Description
Fit Out Managers x 2 for a Residential Project in the Docklands area. These are new positions for a Contractor who has a substantial new build project underway and will be managing the whole fit out process in house. The various fit out packages will amount to some £25m overall.
The Project. A substantial mixed use re-generation project that includes the construction of over 500 residential units for private and affordable housing, retail and commercial units. The entire complex will be set within landscaped areas.
The Company is a well established Contractor with a good volume of substantial projects both on the ground and in the pipeline.
The Role. Fit Out Managers can either come from a professional or technical background or from a trades background and have continued your training with relevant academic qualifications at a later date. However the most important factors are:
• Thorough understanding of the fit-out procedures
• Up to date Health & Safety training and awareness
• The ability to organise both direct and sub contracted packages
• Commercial appreciation of the work entailed and end use
• IT skills for programming and reporting
• A sense of professionalism in dealing with architects, clients and the site team
• The skills to maintain progress and achieve realistic targets
• An understanding of the Residential market
• Good grasp of the logistics involved in multi-storey projects.
Previous Experience in working on high quality finishes on hotels, substantial private residential schemes, high specification commercial or leisure developments will be relevant. Of major importance is the knowledge and experience gained from working either for a relevant contractor or subcontractor or supervising them if coming from a main contractor background.
Current CSCS certification and proof of an up to date knowledge of materials and relevant Health & Safety legislation is advantageous. Good oral and written communication skills will be needed, whilst you must be prepared to work a 6 day week on construction hours.
The intention is to take on someone who already has the track record in working on projects of this nature and who is able to prove that they are ready to take on the responsibility and challenges would also be considered. References will be taken, so ensure these are available before applying.
The Salary reflects the level of applicants who would be considered and the potential duration of the project. There are also combinations of bonuses to take into account stage targets that are achieved and surpassed.
