Highways Team Leader

Scope of works
My client is one of the UK's leading civil engineering contractors, operating throughout most of England. They work for a wide client base of both public sector bodies and private companies, carrying out a variety of works including major highways, bridges, infrastructure and environmental schemes.

They are looking for a Team Leader (Agent) to manage a major section of works providing a consistent and quality service to the client. They are requiring someone who can deliver their section to time and budget in line with the client's specifications, who can work independently, reporting directly to a Senior Construction Manager and overseeing 30-40 individuals including sub-contract labour.

You will ideally be based in the Nottinghamshire County for ease of travel to site. The project value is over £170m and will run until 2011.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Authorising and implication of Health and Safety procedures
Writing and monitoring work programmes.
Managing contract budgets and costs
Liaising with the client and designers
Managing contractors and sub-contractors on site
Driving the project programme while maintaining the high safety record

Essential Candidate requirements
Previous experience in a similar role on a Major Highways Project
Strong leadership and management skills
A commitment to quality and the environmental impact of the works
Proven track record with respect to site safety

Remuneration
£42k- £47k + package including vehicle and annual leave (26 Days) etc
Excellent training opportunities
