Position: Team Leader – Earthworks
Location: Essex
Salary: £50- 70K DOE + Car + Company medical cover

Our client; one of the UK's largest main contractors has won a major motorway widening contract in the South East. We are actively seeking applications from suitably experienced Project Managers / team leaders who have worked on large scale and large value UK Highway Construction / Re-construction projects or have worked on heavy civil projects for the Highways Agency; in particular we are looking for Earthworks Specialists. This project has a value in excess of £1Bn and so large project experience is essential.

Principle Duties & Accountabilities for Earthworks Team Leader

• Establish the Project Execution Plan and set up the project organisation for its implementation
Create and develop successful project teams and manage clients both internal and external whilst making a significant contribution to generating future business for the company
• Set targets to measure performance within the project team, and drive continuous improvement
• Manage the process in a manner which enhances the reputation of the company and increases prospects for future work.
• Develop potential future work opportunities through relationships with members of the construction community.
• Keep abreast of developments in professional field

Key Working Relationships
Supervision of the entire Site team from Agent to labour
Liaison with the Works Manager, Engineering Manager, Design Manager, QS, PR Manager, Clients' Rep, Sub Contractors and Local Authority

Essential qualifications and experience
• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or related subject.• Knowledge and understanding of construction contact law and forms of contract • Extensive Technical knowledge of Earthworks and experience of construction techniques and best practices.
• Understanding of procurement, financing and accounting processes and procedures.
• Relevant CSCS Card

Although not essential, a membership of the Institute of Civil Engineers would be desirable as would be some experience in working at Agent level.
