Job Description

Sub Agent / Engineer, PTS qualified, with Rail and Road experience for Level Crossing re-instatement in the Sunderland area. Contract basis, 10 – 12 months work available, with a start after Easter.
Sub Agent, Surveying Engineer, Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer would be considered. Main Contractor working on extensive Rail, Civils & Roads projects starting in the North needs an experienced Engineer trained person who has worked on Rail and Roads projects in the UK during the last 3-5 years.
Employer. A Main Contractor with substantial projects just starting is seeking to expand their workload and associated workforce.

Ideal Contractors Requirement. Engineer at Section, Senior or Sub Agent level with heavy Civils, Mining, Tunnelling, Roads, Rail or heavy structures experience. Ideally degree qualified in a Civil Engineering or relevant discipline with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience on major UK projects working for internationally recognised main Contractors such as Balfour Beatty, Nuttall, Carillion, Skanska, McAlpine, Laing O’Rourke or similar Contractors.

Ideal Project Experience. Generally involving aspects of some or all the following Civils operations; Major Roads and Highways, Mining, Tunnelling, Demolition, Excavation and Piling, perhaps some river or marine work, then large structures such as bridges, substantial retaining walls, abutments, with associated temporary works as required, including considerable amounts of external works including road, rail and river diversions.

Qualifications. PTS essential, also Driving licence. Ideally qualified to Degree level in Civil Engineering, Mining, Tunnelling or Survey Engineering with the appropriate ongoing and up to date training and career progression.

Your background. You must be able to demonstrate considerable experience in some of the areas described above, have strong written and oral communication skills, current technical knowledge, up to date Health & Safety awareness will all be expected. Reference checks will be made to validate your application.

Rewards. Competitive market rate. 10 hour shifts.
