Job Description
Our client is a leading provider with a name recognised globally. They currently have a requirement for an Maintenance Manager to join the team in Doha.
The project consists of two wastewater treatment Plants. Doha South Sewage Treatment Works is an activated sludge treatment facility with a current capacity of 112,000m3 per day. Industrial Area Sewage Treatment Works has a capacity of 12,000m3 per day.
The Maintenance Manager will:
·Report to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for maintaining operational equipment, monitoring and development of maintenance methods at both Doha South & Industrial Area STW's.
·Assume responsibility for the monitoring and development of maintenance programs at both facilities and undertake routine analysis and regular reporting of all maintenance issues both routine (preventative) and major maintenance activities.
·Use and develop a computer-based maintenance data base system – MAXO.
·Promote the use of forecast and preventive maintenance strategies.
·Pay particular attention to forecast and preventive maintenance.
·To act as a QA representative for all maintenance procedures.
·Assisted by instrumentation engineer, automation engineer, CMMS Method Engineer (MAXO) and Maintenance team leaders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
During the mobilisation period, undertake with the Employer (Ashghal) and Operations Manager and Maintenance Manager the Initial Condition Survey, as specified in the Contract, to review the condition and performance of all assets and agree upon necessary remedial works with the Employer to ensure acceptable condition & performance of all assets at both facilities.
To work closely with the Plant Manager to establish the CMMS (using MAXO) and utilise existing asset registers to implement an asset management plan for both facilities.
Establish and manage existing maintenance operations (curative, forecast and preventive measures) at both facilities.
Ensure that preventive maintenance programs are carried out by maintenance personnel in accordance with the Preventative Maintenance Plan.
Ensure that day-to-day maintenance is carried out by maintenance personnel in accordance with the routine maintenance plan.
Analyze maintenance incidents at both facilities and make recommendations or changes to process and/or procedures to optimise maintenance activities and subsequent operational performance.
Work in close relationship with the Plant Manager and Operational Manager.
Plan installation of new equipment via liaison with Plant Manager and the Employer (Ashghal) when required.
Regular updating of the CMMS maintenance database - MAXO.
Keep technical documentation up-to-date for all equipment at both facilities.
Establish safety procedures for all maintenance activities at both facilities.
Review existing spare parts held by the Employer during the mobilisation period and identify additional spares parts to be held in stock.
Work closely with the Plant Manager for procurement of spare parts and ensure that stocks of spare parts are strictly monitored and kept at optimum levels.
Oversee the management of the stores at both facilities.
Monitor maintenance costs and make recommendations for improvement.
Develop and update maintenance QA procedures in coordination with the Assistant Works Manager.
CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS
The Maintenance Manager will be the senior member of the maintenance team and may be required from time-to-time to attend either facility out of normal working hours.
May be required to work flexibly owing to the continuous nature of the work.
Management of both facilities (separate locations) and regular attendance/inspection thereof.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Degree qualified in maintenance engineering or other relevant qualification from a recognised institution approved by the Employer (Ashghal).
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience including maintenance of large sewage treatment plants, direct labour supervision, experience gained in overseas environment dealing with an expatriate labour force of various nationalities, sound practical background, computer literate for the engineering field.
Good command of the English language both written and spoken. Computer literate.
Experience in Sequenced Batch Reactor (SBR) process and Activated Sludge (AS) process is highly desirable
