Job Description

A Fire Engineer is urgently needed for a multi disciplinary consultancy to develop their expertise in ensuring effective and compliant fire safety systems are provided for our range of clients within the sporting, transportation, commercial building and military fields. Gifted fire engineers are required to develop their expertise in delivering fire engineering solutions and compliant fire safety design. Our clients include Architects, local education authorities, LOCOC, Crossrail, MOD and the next generation of nuclear power station developers.

Responsibilities;
As a member of the fire engineering team the post holder will be responsible for providing fire safety strategies. This will involve the preparation of strategy reports, review of designs, development of fire engineering solutions and liaison with other disciplines within the design team on fire safety related matters such as:
Means of escape. Fire alarm and detection systems. Fire suppression systems. Fire modelling. Structural response. Designed structural fire protection measures and Fire brigade access and facilities.

Requirements;

Experience and abilities:
The applicant should be able to demonstrate experience of working in a fire strategy role within a design team environment. The post requires an individual who is self motivated with good communication skills and able to work individually, and as a team member to meet project deadlines. An ability to use CFD, or other computer simulation packages would be an advantage, as would experience of structural response to fire, but is not essential.

Training;
My client is an accredited Investor In People and run a Continuous Development Program of lunchtime seminars every fortnight. Additional Information Applicants for this position must have the right to work in the UK without restriction.

Salary up to £39,000 p/a.
