All available Qualified Social workers a new vacancy within Berkshire Social Services, Children and Families Department. Senior Practitioner (QSW) required for a local authority with a reputation for paying above the industry standard. Our client is currently seeking a self motivated, hard working Qualified Social Worker to join their children's department. Ideally candidates will have a minimum 3 years post qualified experience and at least 6 months as a senior social worker, with a strong working knowledge with children and families' settings. Candidates will need to have very strong court work skills, although candidates with less but fully relevant experience will also be considered.

The successful candidate will be working with individual service users undertaking assessments in line with the Assessment Framework. Your experience will expand that of looked after children(LAC), Children in Need(CIN) and young people, providing advice, assistance, counselling and other forms of personal assistance with the aim of enhancing and/or protecting individual welfare. The idea is to bring someone in to assist the Team Manager when necessary and support other members of the team when required. The council has a highly established reputation for high standards of professional service.

Knowledge of child care legislation including the Children Act 1989, Theory and practice of child care planning, able to interview children and families, able to carry out child in need assessments.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the GSCC, have a current CRB and hold a valid UK driving license. The post is looking to run for a minimum 8 months contract. Pay rates are negotiable based on experience and availability.
