Setout Engineer - Highways
Highway Schemes – Bedfordshire

The Setout Engineer will be involved in the day to day setout and supervision of construction activities on site. This role requires someone who will be confident enough to deal with issues straight away and act in a timely manor. The setout engineer will be interpreting drawings and setting out for construction works using a total station (EDM) and level. The Setout engineer should be aware of Traffic Management and Health and Safety issues and may be required to communicate Method Statements and Risk Assessments to the workforce.

Role Description

The Setout Engineer will be responsible for setting out and asbuilt surveys for;
•Re-Surfacing
•Structural works to Bridge decks
•Bridge edge beam and parapet reconstruction
•Highway Services (drainage, communications, lighting etc)
Possible day and night working

Required Experience
•HNC or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent Degree / Diploma)
•Experience on Highway construction or Major Maintenance
•Surfacing and Bridge Structure experience a definite advantage
•Other heavy civil engineering background would be considered.
