Job Description
We are currently looking for a Qualified Social Worker to work within adults and Families. The vacancy is based in West London.
Candidates are required to hold a clear enhanced CRB, references covering the last 5 years and a full CV covering and explaining any gaps in your employment history and also having the reasons for leaving previous posts.
Main Purpose of the Job:
To support the social care divisions for Adults and Family Services to meet business and workforce objectives, with specific reference to post-qualifications and the continuing professional development of the workforce.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To act as lead officer on social work continuing professional development, including social work post-registration training and learning (PRTL)
2. Establish and develop relationships with operational managers and key officers in the business groups and with key external partners to effect collaborative and partnership working
3. Maintain effective and positive partnerships with learning and development staff at business group and corporate level, and in partner agencies.
4. Contribute to the planning, consultation, development and completion of the business group learning and development plan
5. To communicate policy and legislative changes and ensure that managers and staff are aware of current issues in education, training and development relevant to the housing and social care sectors
6. To ensure provision of opportunities for staff to study at post-qualifying level conjunction with service management, education providers, and regulatory bodies
7. To monitor performance in all target areas, and contribute information for performance management and audit purposes
8. To establish and manage relationships with higher education institutions (HEIs) to ensure high quality learning and effective outcomes
9. To work in partnership with managers, specific officers and other agencies, including the voluntary sector, to promote the involvement of service users and carers in social care training and development
10. Keep self informed and updated on current developments and research in staff development and workforce issues
11. Ensure own continuing professional development through opportunities to increase personal skills, knowledge and expertise
12. All staff are expected to carry out their job in compliance with the Council’s Constitution. This means being familiar with the policies and procedures relevant to
the job and asking for information and advice if you are unsure of the correct course of action. The Council’s Constitution is published on the Internet.
