Purpose of the Job

To deliver a high quality assessment, support and supervision service to long term recruited and kinship carers and the children placed with them.

To comply with service standards, and work to achieve local and national targets for children and young people in care.

Main Responsibilities/activities

To undertake all tasks and duties in accordance with the relevant legislation, service standards and to contribute to the achievement of key national and departmental performance indicators and targets for children and young people.

To participate in the “duty” system and follow up referrals.

To undertake viability and full assessments of kinship carers, suitability to care for individual named children,

To prepare and present reports to court and relevant panels within the given timescales.

To recruit and match long-term carers for children and young in need of permanent foster care.

Candidates are required to hold a clear enhanced CRB, references covering the last 5 years and a full CV covering and explaining any gaps in your employment history and also having the reasons for leaving previous posts.

Candidates need to be registered with the General Social Care Council.
